Semantic web
Principle of a web that has meaning, that is to say whose contents are associated with metadata describing the content in question clearly, and is based on the separation between content and its formatting. The advantage of the semantic web is to ensure the relevance of information searches and document accessibility.

Description
Proclaimed "the next evolution of the web" by its creator, Tim Berners-Lee, is to arrive at a "smart" web, where the information would not be stored but "understood" by computers to provide the user what he really is looking for. As defined by Tim Berners-Lee, the semantic web will (unlike the current web which is seen as a syntactic web) make semantic content of web resources interpretable not only by man but by machine.
